Ariana is a comparatively rare type of woolen Kilim, having a flat-woven style, and its threads which are usually embroidered and sometimes a combination of Kilim and Rug. The wefts strands (serving a decorative role rather than the structural role of knotted carpets) are threaded through some warp strands and then looped back.
